A professional storyteller and children’s literature specialist, Laura Escuela brings together education, educational psychology, and the arts in cultural and educational projects. She has participated in storytelling festivals in Spain, Chile, Peru, Scotland, and India, and has led initiatives that encourage children to read in Tenerife. She is co-founder of TAGORAL, the Canary Islands Storytelling Association, and has training in Spanish Sign Language.

Adalberto Ortiz Ávalos
Mexico · Author

A Mexican author and entrepreneur, Adalberto Ortiz Ávalos explores adolescence, memory, and the human experience through a literary and poetic lens. He published his first novel, Las luciérnagas, at age 32, followed by titles including El grillo and Juan el Inconstante. Published by Diego Pun Ediciones, the latter is part of a trilogy that embraces poetry and the sublime.

Alejandra Varela
Venezuela / Spain · Curator and Designer

A Venezuelan designer and curator based in Barcelona, Spain, Alejandra Varela has curated every ENTRELIBROS illustration exhibition since 2023, shaping each edition through the dialogue between literature, illustration, and the exhibition experience. In 2026, she returns as curator of Cuentos de Ciudad, the exhibition accompanying the fourth edition of ENTRELIBROS.

Francisca “Pancha” Mayobre
United States · Editor and Publishing Consultant

A bilingual editor and consultant with more than 25 years of experience in children’s and educational publishing, international rights, and catalog development, Francisca “Pancha” Mayobre previously served as Editorial Director of Ediciones Ekaré and has contributed to projects recognized by institutions such as Bologna Ragazzi and the New York Public Library. Her work combines editorial insight, market expertise, and a deep commitment to bringing quality books to new readers.

Venezuela / United States · Reading Promoter

A reading promoter with a degree in Literature from Universidad Central de Venezuela, Betty Quintero’s career spans publishing, reading mediation, and education. In Miami, she is part of Fundación Cuatrogatos and has coordinated ¿Te leo un libro?, a reading program for pre-K children in Homestead, since 2019. She also teaches in the World Languages Department at Miami Dade College.

An educator from Galicia with more than two decades of teaching experience across four countries and two continents, Amalia Francisco Mendaña has worked with students of many different ages and approaches education as a process of exchange, learning, and growth. She currently teaches Spanish at Sunset Elementary, one of the schools affiliated with the Education Office of the Consulate of Spain in Miami.

An author, storyteller, and social theater facilitator, Fran Pintadera has presented his work at festivals, book events, libraries, and cultural venues. His books have been published by Edelvives, SM, Kalandraka, Ekaré, and Takatuka, among others, and translated into numerous languages. His research also explores oral storytelling and its relationship to the voices of literary characters.

A bookseller and storyteller working in children’s literature since 2017, Javier Carilla Pros has developed his career in bookstores, cultural programs, and spaces that bring books and readers together. His experience combines direct engagement with readers and an understanding of the publishing world. He currently works at Editorial A buen paso, where his roles span children’s literature promotion, bookselling, programming, and learning the craft of publishing.

Mexico · Commercial Director and Publishing Management Specialist

Paulina Delgado has been part of Ediciones El Naranjo since 2012, where she serves as Commercial Director and helps develop strategies for the distribution and promotion of its catalog in Mexico and other markets. With a background in International Relations and business management, her career brings together strategy, innovation, and publishing. In 2022, El Naranjo received the Bologna Prize for the Best Children’s Publishers of the Year for Central and South America.

An author of children's and young adult books, literary researcher, and co-founder of Fundación Cuatrogatos, Sergio Andricaín has published with presses in Latin America, Spain, and the United States. Much of his career has been dedicated to studying and promoting children’s literature in Spanish and connecting books with young readers. At ENTRELIBROS 2026, he serves as an advisor and moderator of the panel La ciudad que leen los niños.

Juan Carlos Rodríguez
Cuba / United States · Educator and Curriculum Specialist

An educator with extensive experience in language instruction and academic leadership within Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Juan Carlos Rodríguez currently coordinates curriculum for secondary-level language programs, provides professional development, and oversees international studies programs in collaboration with several consulates. He holds master’s degrees in Educational Leadership and Spanish and has dedicated decades to strengthening language education.

Miriam Rodríguez teaches Spanish Language, Literature, Geography, and History at Ada Merritt K-8, an IB school in Miami, through the International Education Program of Spain’s Ministry of Education. With a background in Primary Education, teaching Spanish as a second language, and Culture of Peace, she has built her career in bilingual Spanish-English education in Spain and the United States. She has coordinated programs in internationalization, bilingual education, and environmental education and has published on educational experiences and intercultural learning.
